Being a Danse teacher has many rewards. Working with the kids helps to keep me young. By watching them interact and listening to their speech, I learn the latest lingo and it helps me to stay in touch with the kids while I teach them Blues Danse. We learn from each other. For example, when they say, “this danse move is bad,” they actually mean the move is good. When they say, “that girl looks hot,” they really mean she looks good. It has nothing to do with her temperature. I know this because I verified it with the kids. And when they say, “you look ridiculous in those shorts,” they mean that I look good in these shorts. Maybe even hot. A lot of times, kids can see the plain truth much more easily than adults.
